This discussion will be brief about the Kindle Fire 3G because there is no such model. A lot of consumers are searching for it but Amazon has yet to design one. If you are looking for an e-reader with 3G, the Kindle D00901, now referred to as the Kindle Keyboard 3G is an alternative.

The Kindle Keyboard 3G does offer Internet access but it is limited. This is a really nice e-reader but if you are looking for something with more features of a tablet, then I would recommend researching the Kindle Fire models.

The Kindle Keyboard 3G or Kindle D00901 is $159 and it is well worth it if you are an avid reader. It has fast page refresh and navigation speed.

When the cursor moves around the screen, selecting tabs is a breeze. The cursor is very responsive when you use the rocker button.

The Kindle D00901 uses e-Ink technology that improves the contrast on the display for improved reading in well-lit and poorly-lit rooms.

It cuts down if not eliminates eye-strain. The battery life is good. You can go seven to ten days on one charge if you keep the wireless on. But if you turn it off, you can go for a few weeks without having to charge it.

The Kindle 3G is a lightweight e-reader that only weighs 8.5oz. It can be held in one hand for extended reading sessions without feeling that your arm is going to fall off.

You can listen to some tunes with this Kindle but it is like using the iPod shuffle. If you have one, you know what I am talking about. The web browsing feature is about the same quality as the MP3 feature. They both will do in a pinch but they are not that great.

This model is not meant for heavy web browsing but it will do in a pinch. Reading and downloading PDFs from your PC to the Kindle is not a hassle at all on this model.

Increase the zoom to 150% and read the document sideways on your Kindle when reading PDFs. To scroll down a page, use the arrow keys. To move on to the next page, just press “next” on the Kindle.

The Kindle Paper-white 3G, 6″ High Resolution has a price tag of $179. This is another e-reader. There are four other models including this one. Reading reviews like this article helps you to decide which model is for you.

It has a new black bezel that you may not be fond of since it does show up fingerprints. The text on the screen is clean and crisp and reads like a book just like the Kindle Keyboard.

To turn the page on the Kindle Paper-white, it uses touch-screen technology which tends to be slow at times. The Kindle Keyboard uses back page buttons that respond quicker to your touch. This feature on the Keyboard allows you to effortlessly turn pages.

Reading is very enjoyable with the Paper-white. When you touch the screen, it actually feels like a page on a book. The Kindle Keyboard does not have this.

Other users of the Kindle Paper-white have complained about the storage space. I have no complaints. I have enough stored for years to come and if I need more space, there is always the Kindle Cloud to store extra content.

Just like the Kindle Keyboard, the Paper-white has excellent battery life. On average, if you read for a half hour each day with the Paper-white, you won’t have to charge it for at least two months. If you use it more than this, you may only get a month on a single charge.

There is a reading time feature on the Paper-white. This feature is great for those who want to know how fast they read and how long will it take them to finish a chapter based on how fast they read. This feature is useful if you want to read a chapter in one setting and want to know how long will it take for you to do this.

The Paper-white has a front-lit screen which eliminates the need for a lighted case. It lights up nicely and evenly across the page. It has various light settings that you can set it to for the degree of light in the room at the time you are reading.

When it comes to surfing the Net, both models perform about the same. These devices are mainly e-readers with different features to suit the needs of different avid readers.

When Amazon finally gets around to creating the kindle fire 3g, I’m sure it will be as fun to use as the kindle dxg is. The entire Kindle family offers hours of enjoyment for your entire family. Whether you enjoy playing games, reading e-books, surfing the Net, or staying up-to-date on current events, the Kindle and Kindle Fire will meet your e-reader/tablet needs.
